2019-20 Hoops Premium Stock Parallels Guide, Gallery and Details

BySCM

The 2019-20 Panini Premium Stock parallels aren’t your typical rainbow. Yes, there are lots of colors. But within most of those are several patterns. Combining the two makes the number of different versions grow quickly. While a checklist can be handy, sometimes you need something a little more concrete to really sink into.

2019-20 Hoops Premium Stock Parallels

With that in mind, here’s a comprehensive guide to the full 2019-20 Panini Premium Stock Basketball parallels lineup.

First up is an explanation of the various background patterns followed by a massive gallery showing even more parallel specifics including what types of packs and boxes you can find them in.

Pattern Primer

For the most part, decoding colors isn’t too hard. Just go by the top of the border and you should be able to narrow it down in a hurry. The background pattern names are where things can be a little trickier. It’s not so much telling them apart, but rather what name to assign them.

Here’s a quick look at the main background patterns found on the 2019-20 Hoops Premium Stock parallels.

Checkerboard

Checkerboard parallels don’t have any additional colors. These are exclusive to the Premium Set sold directly by Panini. As far as patterns go, this one might be the most self-explanatory. The repeating squares look like a checkerboard.

Cracked Ice

Cracked Ice is one of Panini’s most popular parallel styles, perhaps most notably in Contenders. These look like little shards running throughout the card. Some longtime collectors might recognize it from some of Topps’ Atomic Refractors over the years as well.

Disco

Purple is the only color to get the Disco treatment in 2019-20 Hoops Premium Stock. It’s kind of like bubble floating up through the background.

Flash

Think of Flash as like the heart monitor of Hoops Premium Stock parallels. These have several spiking lines running through them.

Mojo

Part octagon, part maze, Mojo might be the pattern that takes you back to geometry class.

Pulsar

Pulsar parallels are like a series of small circles that tile in the background. The lines are more orderly than the Disco pattern. Also, the circles are uniform in size.

Shimmer

Exclusive to TMall boxes earmarked for Asia, Shimmer parallels are the last to show up for 2019-20 Hoops Premium Stock Basketball. If these stay true to other Shimmer cards, like those found in Prizm, it’s almost as though a rainy downpour were interpreted for a sports card.

Wave

When you shine a Wave parallel under light, the ridges look like a series of small ripples running in a couple of directions.

2019-20 Hoops Premium Stock Parallels Gallery and Guide

The following gallery breaks down the 2019-20 Hoops Premium Stock parallels even further, showing specific examples for colors and patterns. For cards without serial numbers, they’re arranged alphabetically at the top. Once you get into numbered parallels, the most common are first going down to the rarest.

Please note that print runs or odds have not been released for cards without serial numbers.
