It brings lots of questions and prognostication among collectors as well. Which rookies are going to shine? Who’s going to break out? When will the masses finally show some hobby love for José Ramirez? What kind of magic is Shohei Ohtani going to cast this year?
On the prospect front, Boston’s Roman Anthony finds himself in the spotlight after being at or near the top of several high-profile lists for the season. His first Bowman Chrome Autograph came out just a couple of years ago.
It’s not just baseball that’s moving right now. With standout performances almost nightly, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander now finds him in basketball’s elite. On the court, he has been there for a couple of years. But in the hobby, the Canadian is really starting to get recognized. Nikola Jokic also continues to put up ridiculous numbers but it’s expected at this point. His cards continue to be hot, but they’re past the breakout stage at this point.
