Chuck Ramsay surprises Bill Jartz with gag baseball cards on-air (1996)
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – Friday, May 23, was Bill Jartz’s last day at WBAY, and the day of the Packers charity softball game, so for our Action 2 News Rewind, let’s remember a moment on-air that relates to both of those.
In 1996, Bill, back when he was the sports director, was a participant in a Packers charity softball game called “Teague’s League”. Legendary anchor Chuck Ramsay decided that any good ballplayer needs a baseball card.
To accomplish this, he and one of the production team created gag baseball cards with some wacky photos of Bill, and surprised him with them on-air.
