Not all trading cards are made equal, and not all Victor Wembanyama cards are as valuable as the next. But when a 2022-23 Bowman Inception University Autographs Gold Foil V1 #BIAVW Victor Wembanyama came through Beckett Grading Services, this one caught a lot of attention in a hurry.
Wembanyama, affectionately known as “Wemby”, is one of the NBA’s rising stars. Hailing from Le Chesnay, France, the 7-foot, 3-inch, center is as diverse and unique as it gets on the court. Named NBA Rookie of the Year in 2024 and an All-Star in 2025, Wemby is a double-double machine that can defend and hand out the assists.
The excitement Wemby brings to the floor with the San Antonio Spurs has collectors seeking out his high-end autographed cards. Only 50 of the 2022-23 Bowman Inception University Autographs Gold Foil V1 #BIAVW Victor Wembanyama cards were made. The Beckett online price guide conditional pricing starts at $10,000 mint dropping to $8,000 near mint-mint.
Of the 50 made, so far there has only been one graded Pristine 10.
The Player Behind the Card
Wemby broke into the NBA averaging 21.4 points and 10.6 rebounds per game during the 2023-24 season. During his rookie campaign, Wemby led the league in blocks per game (3.6). His sophomore season started out hot showing improvement across the board. Through 46 games, Wemby was averaging 24.3 points and 11.0 rebounds. Unfortunately, a deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder ended his 2024-25 season prematurely.
Expected to make a full recovery from his medical condition, fan enthusiasm remains high. After his diagnosis, a 2023-24 Panini Prizm Nebula Choice Prizm #136 Victor Wembanyama sold at Goldin Auctions for $860,100.
