(WHTM) – An extremely rare baseball card is about to hit the shelves, and the Pittsburgh Pirates are making a once-in-a-lifetime offer for whoever pulls the card.

On November 13, the sports card maker Topps will release the Paul Skenes 1/1 Rookie Debut Patch Autograph baseball card in its 2024 Topps Chrome Update.

The rookie card features Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes with his autograph and the “MLB Debut” patch he wore in his first career start on May 11. It will be the only card of its kind made, meaning collectors will be buying up as many boxes as they can to pull the card.

In anticipation of the card’s release, the Pirates are offering whoever pulls the card a once-in-a-lifetime package of prizes.

  • Two Pirates season tickets behind home plate for the next 30 years

  • A softball game for 30 at PNC Park with coaching from Pirates alumni

  • A private spring training tour of Pirates City and LECOM Park

  • Meet & greet with Paul Skenes

  • Two Paul Skenes autographed jerseys

  • Take batting practice/warm up with the Pirates

  • Other unique experiences at Pirates City and LECOM Park

Already on Topps website their jump box, hobby case, mega case, and hobby boxes are sold out.

The chances of pulling an MLB Rookie Debut Patch Autograph is 1:28,105 for those who buy a hobby box and can be as high as 1:336,040 if you buy a mega box. If you get a humbo hobby distributor box your odds of finding a card is 1:4,985 and those with a breaker delight hobby box have a 1:446 chance of pulling a card.

Similar MLB Debut 1/1 cards in the release include Cincinnati Reds star Kelly De La Cruz and Baltimore Orioles rookie Jackson Holliday, among others.

Skenes is a finalist for both the National League Rookie of the Year award and the National League Cy Young award, given to the league’s best pitcher. The 22-year-old rookie won 11 games with a 1.96 ERA in 23 starts for Pittsburgh.
